Nissan has announced that it’s new Micra 160SR will go on sale for £9,995.

The number of units has been limited to 1,600 units this year.

The 1.6-litre 108bhp Micra acclerates from 0-62mph in 9.8 seconds. Even with its extra power, the Micra 160SR generates 42.8mpg on the combined cycle.

In addition to the new 1.6 litre engine, the Micra 160SR gets stiffer and lower suspension, dynamic ESP, a deep front spoiler with integrated projector fog lamps, body coloured roof and side spoilers, dark tinted headlamps and graphite finished 16-inch alloys.

Side curtain airbags are another addition over the standard Micra. Inside, the 160SR gets aluminium pedals, white dials, six speaker CD system, automatic wipers and lighting plus air-conditioning – all as standard.

The five-door version 160SR is available at £10,645. An electric sunroof is available as an added option at £375. Two-tone leather trim is also available with heated seats for £850.
