BBC West Midlands interviewed AM news editor Tim Rose recently for the views of the motor industry's leading newspaper on the possibility of mass production being returned to Longbridge.

Tim no doubt depressed the already melancholic ex-MG Rover workforce with his statement that the glory days of Longbridge were well gone, and it was highly unlikely to ever be more than a token presence with maybe 1000 or so workers. The BBC was delighted to hear that although a Chinese buyer (subsequently confirmed to be Nanjing Automobile) would see it as an ideal route into the European car market, it would be mad not to keep mass production in China.
