Suzuki GB has appointed Takanori Suzuki as managing director, automobiles and corporate operations, with effect from July 1.

Suzuki joins from Suzuki Motor Corporation’s Hamamatsu headquarters where, most recently, he was in charge of the General Motors Liaison Group.

Previously Suzuki has had overseas experience within the corporation, including a period at the group’s manufacturing plant in Hungary.

Suzuki replaces Hideki Awano as managing director, who will retire in the autumn. Awano has completed four years with Suzuki GB and will stay on in the capacity of director and senior advisor for a few months to ensure a smooth handover.

  • Takanori Suzuki is not related to the founding Suzuki family nor to Osamu Suzuki, the current chairman and CEO.
