Western European car sales fell by 4% to one million units in December, compared to the same month in 2004.

As a result, full-year sales across the region reached 14.49 million units, down slightly by 0.2% year-on-year, according to CSM Worldwide, the automotive forecasting and market intelligence company.

CSM predicted full-year passenger car sales to reach 14.68 million units this year, representing a slight increase of 1.3% on 2005.
