‘Good margins’ in laser systems

Leicester-based Laser Protector is targeting specialist garages and workshops with a laser diode parking system.

The company, which develops driver aids and security gate openers, has signed a contract with Comtec to distribute its products in the UK.

“We have about 500 orders a month, so the products are proving popular,” says Andrew Thompson, managing director of Laser Protector.

He claims the Laser Pro Park system’s high quality lasers and lenses give huge advantages to both reception and coverage.

It is aiming for the top-end market and is hoping to sell its products through professional installers who specialize in GPS and satellite navigation equipment.

“This is a growing market and our unit really is a premium product. There are good margins to be made by installers,” says Thompson.
