Land Rover has achieved its best sales performance in its history last year, with 185,120 vehicles sold around the world, an increase of 14% on 2004.

In the UK, sales grew to 48,777 – 3% higher than the previous year.

Andy Griffiths, Land Rover's UK marketing director, said: "The sales growth has been driven by an exceptionally strong model line up. The Range Rover Sport, our fifth nameplate, experienced a great debut with 30,356 models sold worldwide in six months.”
