London might yet become home to the UK’s first bespoke Authentic Hummer Centre (AHC), complete with trademark large ‘H’.

Despite having told AM the network would not include the huge flagship, Hummer now admits one is being considered.

AM reported in August that Pieter Gabriels, managing director of Kroymans Hummer Europe, wants eight UK outlets by August 2007, and 12 by 2009.

The market is expected to take up to 800 new Hummers per year and will be second largest in Europe for Hummer, behind Germany.

No retailers have yet been appointed, but negotiations are about to begin. There will be three different types of sales outlet: Gallery, Dealership and AHC.

Gallery standard is 100m3 of floor space for two vehicles inside any showroom, selling 25-100 cars per year. For Dealership, shifting up to 300 units, the minimum standard is a dedicated Hummer area.

AHC is for dealers selling up to 300 units annually. Its custom-built hanger-style design features ‘H’ branding over the door, and may include an off-road course.
