The Institute of the Motor Industry has teamed up with the National Union of Students (NUS) to offer a range of lifestyle discounts.

In its ‘proud to be professional’ campaign, the IMI will give more than 20,000 IMI students the opportunity to get a free NUS Associate Card, which entitles the holder to discounts on clothes, music, driving lessons and insurance.

To qualify, candidates must apply for membership of the IMI at affiliate entry level, offering recognition from the Institute for a fee starting from £20 per year. Once students have completed their qualification, they are entitled to join as full members.

In an effort to further boost its awareness and profile within the motor sector, the IMI has also launched its first industry newsletter.

Torque will be published three times per year and distributed to manufacturers, franchised dealerships, independent service and repair outlets, colleges of further education, training providers and relevant industry bodies.
