Ford has given its Ranger pick up a makeover in time for its September launch this year.

The Ranger is now equipped with a new 2.5-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine that features a new common-rail fuel injection system. The engine provides increased power from the previous 107bhp to 141bhp. Ford said it has addressed the Rangers cabin noise and vibration problems.

All new Rangers feature an integrated radio with an in-dash CD player and MP3 compatibility: an in-dash six-CD player and additional speakers are also available.

Safety features include front airbags for driver and passenger, plus optional side impacts airbags for the front seats. Seatbelts are equipped with pre-tensioners and child seat anchors are also available. Four wheel ABS anti-lock braking is standard across the Ranger model range.

Prices will be announced in the summer.
