Inchcape has submitted plans to replace its current Mercedes-Benz and Smart outlet in Coventry with a new showroom.

The proposed showroom, designed by MDG Architects of Warwick, would cover a similar footprint as the existing one at the entrance to the city’s Seven Stars Industrial Estate. However, Inchcape wants to add two extensions, one of which will display the Smart brand, and the other will increase service capacity for its Mercedes-Benz van operation by around 25%.

It will also extend the dealership onto land bought 12 months ago by Inchcape, which currently houses a training centre and office suite previously operated by a windscreen company.

The finished development, which is still subject to approval by Coventry City Council, will provide a used car display for up to 90 vehicles and parking for 51 vans.
