Land Rover will launch an upgraded version of its Defender model in 2007.
It will go on sale next spring and ensures production at the manufacturers Solihull factory until 2010.
Land Rover also said it was working to see if it could extend the Defender’s life beyond 2010. Whether this means future upgrades or a complete redesign is unclear.
