How did you get in to the automotive business?
I joined Ford Motor Company after leaving university.
What does your job entail?
Establishing SsangYong in the UK as a credible, good quality, value for money brand. Currently we are on a major franchising exercise, recruiting excellent dealer partners.
How will your job change over the next few years?
Once we have achieved our target sales volume in the UK we need to ensure that we remain there.

Ford, Citroën and Emap.
What advice would you give to young people planning to join the industry?
Get some retail automotive experience early on. Listen to the old boys in the business and learn from their experiences.
What’s the worst career move you’ve ever made?
I turned down a job while at Ford, didn’t get promotion for a further two years. I didn’t listen to the old boys!
