The Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF) has appointed a head of public affairs as part of its new strategy to increase its campaigning and lobbying activity.

Josephine Perry joins the RMIF from her position as public ffairs manager at Edexcel, part of Pearson plc. She will report directly to RMIF chief executive Matthew Carrington and will oversee the federation's lobbying in the UK and Brussels, as well as co-ordinating the organisation's public affairs activity across all areas, notably the franchised and independent sectors.

Carrington said: “This key appointment will ensure that the RMIF continues to strengthen its influence on the public affairs stage, through liaison with MPs and key political and industry stakeholders.”

Prior to her position with Edexcel, Perry worked in the external relations team at the Royal Mail Group and was an account manager at Weber Shandwick Public Affairs.
