Name: Jonathan Nash
Company: Saab GB
Age: 46
Job: MD

How did you get in to the automotive business?
I did a business degree and then joined Renault as a graduate trainee in 1983.

What does your job entail?
I look after and lead one of the best car brands in the world.

How will your job change over the next couple of years?
I’ll no doubt become increasingly underpaid and increasingly overworked. Like everyone else, really!

Who else have you worked for?
Renault, where I started as a graduate trainee. Then on to Saab where I began my career as a regional manager.

What advice would you give to young people planning to join the industry?
Have a go. It’s a great industry and we need talented people to come work in it.

What’s the worst career move you’ve ever made?
Being outspoken to my first French boss, who became MD of Renault five years later.

And the best?
Joining Saab as a regional manager.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?
Would like to see myself leading one of GM’s brands in Europe.
