The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency’s has issued an emergency testing (ET) status, after its MoT computer system crashed again.

Retail Motor Industry Federation members became aware on July 31.

VOSA quickly invoked ET status and by utilising the number 6802310 for intermediate certificates they ensured that affected MoT testing stations could continue to test vehicles. For future manual testing, members must first check with the VOSA help line to ensure the situation has not changed.

VOSA has advised that MoT testing stations contacting their help line can anticipate a waiting time of approximately five minutes.

The cause of the partial crash seems once again to be connected with a data download last weekend. VOSA are confident that the cause has been identified and that the system is now returning to normal.

  • If you feel that the RMIF can be of any practical assistance to you during this period of ET please call 020 7307 3595.
