The business currently caters for 15 to 20 customers per day but is hoping to attract more since gaining Renault Authorised Repairer status in January.
Robert Wyper, managing director, says: “The move to our larger and purpose-built workshop allows us to provide Renault customers with servicing, repairs and warranty work to the high standards demanded of a manufacturer-approved service centre.”
Located at Dean Street, Kilmarnock, the independent garage and used car centre recently incorporated a Renault parts department into its business. This supplies and delivers Renault original equipment and Renault’s all-makes parts brand, Motrio, to independent garages and repairers across Ayrshire.
As the business has expanded, so have staff numbers. “We’ve taken on a qualified technician, a Renault apprentice technician and one other member of staff,” says Joe Grieve, aftersales manager at Robert Wyper. “We’re hoping to take on another two people by the end of the year, depending on growth.”
To market the new 12-service bay workshop, Robert Wyper has advertised continuously on local radio stations as well as promoting itself in the local paper.
The garage is also running a special offer on MoTs for Renault cars at £25 as well as a 20% discount on all Renault scheduled servicing on cars up to three years old.
