Nissan is deciding whether to create stand alone high performance dealerships for its Skyline replacement, the GT-R, when it goes on sale in the UK in March 2009.

The GTR, which goes on sale in Japan in December 6, features a 3.8-litre V6 478bhp twin-turbo engine and will be the first Nissan to features its independently developed 4WD system.

It will be sold through a network of high performance centres domestically, but Nissan is looking into whether it will do the same in the UK.

These high performance centres will have specialised advisors and technicians which would have received ‘extensive’ training to deal with the new GT-R.

A spokesman for Nissan said an announcement would be made at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2008 when the GT-R will make its European debut.

Japanese prices for the GT-R start at £32,680. UK prices are expected to be near £60,000.
