Kwik-Fit is to offer windscreen repairs at all of its 670 workshops by the end of the year.

The process will take less than 30 minutes, with most repairs booked via motorists’ insurance companies and referrals from RAC Autowindscreens.

Retail customers are expected to account for 85% of repairs.

“A windscreen repair service adds another piece to our ever-expanding vehicle service. We can help keep vehicle downtime to an absolute minimum”, said Mike Wise, head of Kwik-Fit Fleet.

The automotive glass market is worth £310 million a year. About 2.8 million jobs are carried out, with an average value of £121. The average cost of a windscreen repair is £50.
