VMEX, the online vehicle movement exchange, is helping franchise dealers cut costs as it expands its delivery service.

The company is offering vehicle delivery, collection and handover services, aiming to provide a one-stop shop for dealer groups. Online technology also enables VMEX to locate the nearest transporters to the vehicle collection point to undertake work which reduces carbon footprint.

Customers can track the status of its vehicle movement online and send orders electronically thorough a web interface.

Tim Phillips, VMEX managing director, said: “VMEX focuses on increasing business efficiency. For dealers, moving vehicles is invariably a two-person job and that brings with it significant staff resource issues. It is also not a cost-effective use of manpower.

This year, VMEX will be responsible for the movement of 200,000 vehicles on behalf of deal groups, vehicle manufacturers, vehicle rental companies, contract hire and leasing providers, auction companies and major fleets.
