Construction has begun on a new motor retail park in Chester.

The first element of the Bumpers Lane Autozone will be a £1.6m dealership representing Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge. It will be owned and operated by family-run motor retailer MTB when it opens in March 2008.

Its showroom will span 10,000sq ft and the site will have a forecourt displaying more than 60 used cars.

MTB has represented Chrysler since 1993 and has a dealership at Warrington and an aftersales centre in Chester.

Bumpers Lane Autozone is being developed by Barlows in conjunction with Chester City Council. Once the development is completed it is expected to be home to four separate dealerships, plus a number of trade counter units.

The development is marketed by motor trade surveyors practice Nigel Lawrence Partnership.
