Subaru will sell a version of Daihatsu’s Sirion as its new Justy.

This entry into the B-segment is a deviation from Subaru’s usual all-wheel drive saloon and 4x4 model line-up.

Subaru used to sell versions of the Suzuki Swift badged as a Justy, but Toyota has now taken a small stake in Subaru, which makes Daihatsu a better fit, already part of the Toyota group.

Subaru is also experimenting with an electric-powered city car, the R1E. There are 30 cars currently being tested in Tokyo and there has been speculation that the car could come to Britain.

The new Justy?: Subaru will rebadge the Daihatsu Sirion in an attempt to attract younger buyers to its brand.
