The Laguna will take on Ford’s Mondeo and Volskwagen’s Passat in the D-segment, with an aim to be among the top three for product quality by 2009.
The new model will feature three new engines, a 1.5 dCi 110bhp, 2.0 dCi 130 and a 2.0 16V 140. Six-speed gearboxes will be standard on every model.
Hatch and Sport Tourer versions of the new Laguna will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Pricing, specification and technical details will be announced closer to official on sale date on October 12.
