The Automotive Distribution Federation has released its accounts for the year ending July 31 2007, showing a £13,000 increase in turnover to £205,408.

Operating profit fell from £6,201 to £1,703, largely due to the move to the new premises in Castle Bromwich in January 2007, but secretary Brian Spratt said the smaller surplus was in line with its aims.

In his report, Spratt claims the move will reap benefits for members, offering more space for meetings, and convenience for visitors.

“This has provided the federation with an operating base suitable for an organisation intent on effectively representing its members to the widest possible body of policy makers and opinion formers,” he said.

During the last 12 months, the federation also worked to represent its members’ opinions on key issues, including Block Exemption Regulations, MoT changes, road pricing and codes of practice.

As a key figure in its formation, the federation has also supported the Right to Repair Campaign, and had an active role in the IMI and Automotive Skills merger. An ATA style programme for parts personnel is being discussed.

Charitable work included raising £10,000 for trade charity Ben, holding a fund-raising cricket match and coll-ection at the annual dinner.
