Bentley is to cut about 200 jobs from its Crewe factory.

According to The Times newspaper the luxury carmaker, owned by VW, is seeking voluntary redundancies from its 3,800 staff at the site which is on short-time working.

It is looking to shed between 200 and 300 jobs and is offering redeployment if possible.Bentley expects to get voluntary redundancies without having to make compulsory job cuts.

The car maker has also removed all night shifts from the production line for the Continental sports car

In September its sales in the UK fell 48%.
