Mazda has revealed the first pictures of its redesigned Mazda3 which will make its debut in saloon form at the Los Angeles Motor Show next month.

The redesign closely follows Mazda’s styling for its new Mazda6 and Mazda2 models and gives a good indication of what the front end of the new hatchback version will look like.

Since its launch in 2003, the current Mazda3 has sold approximately 1.8 million vehicles in over 100 countries, including 13,000 sales in the UK last year and almost 8,000 sales here so far this year.

The Mazda3 accounts for almost one in three Mazdas sold every year globally.

While an official on sale date hasn’t been confirmed, Mazda dealers can expect the hatchback version of the car to go on sale in the UK in the first half of next year.
