Martin Milne from Lawrence of Kemnay Ford in Aberdeenshire has been crowned Ford's apprentice of the year.

The 20-year-old was given a plaque after being pitted against nine other apprentices during the finals on October 30 at the Henry Ford College in Loughborough.

Milne reigned supreme after the trainees were given eight tasks and 30 minutes to complete each one.

They covered diagnostic techniques, vehicle inspection and customer handling skills.

The apprentices were chosen for the competition based on their performance throughout the final year of the Ford Masters Apprenticeship Programme, delivered by Skillnet.
