Workers at a car parts factory that is looking to shed 208 jobs are staging a public meeting in Swansea later.

Staff at Linamar at Jersey Marine say they want to send a message to the plant's Canadian owners that they will fight the voluntary redundancies, reports the BBC.

Meanwhile, car pressings firm Stadco in Powys, which has announced 106 job cuts, meets unions and politicians.

Toyota has also suspended work on a £88m production line at its Flintshire engine plant due to falling car sales.

Stadco in Llanfyllin, which makes pressings and panels for car manufacturers such as Jaguar and Aston Martin, said on Monday it was planning to make more than two thirds of its 153 staff in the small market town redundant.
