Days after scooping the AM Award for Employer of the Year, Sytner Group has achieved fourth position in the Sunday Times ‘20 Best Big Companies to Work For’ 2008 employee survey.

The Sunday Times ‘20 Best Companies to Work For’ guide was created four years ago in recognition of the challenges faced by larger organisations striving to maintain motivated employees. Sytner Group gained recognition for excellent workplace policies, with a focus on attracting and retaining the very best people, whilst delivering outstanding business performance.

Managing director Gerard Nieuwenhuys said, “Our company aim has always been to be the best company to work for and the best company to do business With. An incredibly strong message to live up to, but one that the whole team has embraced through an open and honest culture, within which all employees can flourish and celebrate success.

"I am delighted that the Sunday Times has recognised the achievements of our dedicated and passionate employees.”

Commenting on the achievement, Sarah Sillars, chief executive of the IMI, said: “Sytner Group is to be congratulated on this fantastic recognition. A company which clearly embraces the importance of excellent leadership and management skills in team performance, the group has bucked the trend for high staff turnover in our sector, proving that a culture which recognises staff achievements increases their loyalty.”

“Improving management and leadership skills in the automotive sector is one of the IMI’s ‘big wins’ and Sytner Group is flying the flag with pride. This is great news for our industry,” said Sillars.
