Manheim has consolidated its activities in the UK under three divisions – auctions & remarketing, defleet services and retail services – each with a separate business leader.

Mike Pilkington becomes the new overall managing director of the auctions & remarketing division, covering the physical auctions and online wholesale activities provided through Manheim Auctions and VRS remarketing. He also remains on the Manheim Group Board.

David Mercer, as managing director of defleet services which encompasses the group’s smart repairs, vehicle inspection services and asset management business, has now been appointed to the Manheim Group board.

John Simpson expands his current role as managing director of Portfolio to become the new overall managing director of the retail services division comprising Portfolio, e-GoodManners and RTC.

John Bailey, Manheim’s chief executive, UK and Europe said: "By simplifying our business model and creating clearly identified areas of activity and accountability, it will be easier for us to deliver service excellence in these key markets.

"Our customers still need us to provide core traditional remarketing products such as physical and online auctions. However, as their requirements expand and become increasingly more sophisticated, we need to ensure they can easily embrace more of our services to drive their own efficiency and profitability. This strategic approach sets Manheim apart in the market and positions us extremely well for future growth."
