Kia has revealed its new Koup concept sports car at the New York motor show today.

The revelation comes just after its parent company Hyundai released the first pictures of the production version of its sports coupe, the Genesis, which is also on show in New York.

The two-door Koup features chin spoiler, headlamp cowling, door mirrors, rear bumper insert and rear diffuser all feature the lightweight material. The 19-inch chrome wheels also feature carbon fibre inserts.

It’s powered by a front wheel drive chassis by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 290bhp.

Although it's just a concept at the moment it's likely the Koup will go into production in some form as it provides Kia with a route into the sports car segment and fits with its young and sporty brand values.
