Nissan will launch its NP300 pickup and Cabstar light duty truck into Russia in September, before extending the product range to six before 2011.

Nissan’s Russian business will be called Nissan Motor Rus and the two starting models will be sold through as part of specialised Nissan LCV dealers which will be linked to the existing dealer network.

Andy Palmer, corporate vice president, Nissan Motor, LCV business unit, said: “The start of Nissan LCV sales in Russia is a significant event for our company.

“Entering new markets is a fundamental part of our global LCV growth plan and Russia represents significant volume potential.”

Nissan LCV will also be starting business in North America in the first half of 2010 as part of its global expansions.
