Actia UK, part of the French-listed automotive electronics group, has set up the subsidiary Actia Miller UK for the marketing, sales, installation and support of Actia Muller’s range of garage equipment.
It will be based at Newtown, Powys. Richard Tomkins, previously Sun Diagnostics UK sales and service director, will lead the venture as general manager.
Initially, the focus will be on creating a sales distribution network with partners serving the auto-service and commercial vehicle aftermarket. Recruitment for a team of regionally based technical support representatives is currently underway.
Richard Tomkins said: “Our sales force will be available to support the distributors.”
The company also intends to sell directly to the automotive industry where there is no conflict with its partners.
“The aim is to make a two-pronged approach, targeting the independent service centres and franchised dealers, as well as commercial vehicle workshops and other allied interests, such as the training and support organisations,” added Tomkins.
