Daihatsu has introduced a five-year warranty across its entire range of models.

The warranty period was first trialled on the Japanese manufacturer’s Terios mini-SUV and Sirion five-door supermini from January.

Now the Copen mini-sportscar and Materia mini-MPV will also get five years’ unlimited mileage warranty plus five years’ UK roadside recovery.

The offer is not transferable and applies to all retail sales. It runs until the end of the year when it will be reviewed.

Paul Tunnicliffe, managing director of Daihatsu Vehicle Distributors, said: "With recent fuel price increases and wider public concern about global warming, our cars have never made more sense.

"Daihatsus offer outstandingly low running costs and have an enviable reputation for reliability and approachable, friendly dealers. Now that all models enjoy a five-year warranty we can continue our steady sales growth."
