HPI has won a three-year contract with Drive Motor Retail for provision of vehicle provenance checks.

The contract became available following the closure of its rival Trader Data Systems (TDS) in February.

AM understands that Experian also pitched for the contract but was unsuccessful.

The tender process included presentations and a trial at the AM100 top 50 dealer group’s Bristol headquarters.

Chris Elvidge, finance director of the £189 million turnover 10-site group, said: “Our trials revealed that HPI’s service had the edge.”

TDS had attempted to direct its customers to Experian’s vehicle data checking platform.

In March, HPI beat Experian to win a three-year contract with Sytner Group.
