A survey of the UK's most and least popular brands has put Fiat as the most hated carmaker.

The study of 3,000 consumers, by marketing agency Joshua, examined household names in all retail sectors.

It revealed that Fiat was the 6th most reviled consumer brand, beaten only by Tiny, McDonalds, Novon, QVC and Pot Noodle. Its nearest carmaker neighbour was Citroen, at 46th most disliked.

No carmaker featured in the top 10 most loved brands, which were dominated by Google, Tesco, Nokia, eBay, Persil, Dell, Coca-Cola, Debenhams, British Airways and BBC One.

The only carmaker in the top 50 popular brands was Ford, in 48th place.
