Skoda UK has announced specification and pricing for the new Superb ahead of its launch in September.

The range is divided into three trim levels; S, SE and Elegance, and buyers will be able to select from a range of three diesel and three petrol engines, DSG gearbox and four wheel drive.

For the first time, the line-up includes the 1.4 TSI petrol engine and 170bhp 2.0 common rail diesel, and seven speed DSG gearbox available on the 1.8 TSI.

Also new to the Superb is the Twindoor tailgate, standard across the range, which can either be opened like a saloon or hatchback.

Prices start at £15,490 for the entry level S trim with the 1.4 TSI petrol engine, and standard equipment includes air conditioning, an MP3 compatible CD player, alloy wheels and ESP.

For an extra £2,000 the SE adds Alcantara upholstery, dual zone air conditioning, cruise control, parking sensors and an umbrella in the rear door.

The top of the range Elegance trim adds a further £1,500, and includes full leather interior with heated front seats, bi-xenon headlights, Bluetooth capability and rain sensing windscreen wipers.
