Andrew Sproston (42), Sales director, Fiat Group UK

How did you get in to the automotive business?
I realised corporate banking wasn’t for me anymore.

What does your job entail?
Working with my team to assist the dealer network in delivering 85% of the Fiat UK volume.

How will your job change over the next few years?
With new products recently launched in the UK and some terrific new models on their way, Fiat’s UK brand proposition is changing. My role will be to ensure we take this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to introduce more people to Fiat.

Other jobs?
Everything from kitchen porter and admin assistant to establishing financial services companies in Europe. I have had sales and marketing positions within Ford, MG Rover and Hyundai Europe in the UK.

What advice would you give to young people joining the industry?
Come with an open mind and ask lots of questions.

What is the worst career move you’ve ever made?
Haven’t made one yet!

And the best?
Absolutely my latest one.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?
Older, hopefully wiser and still enjoying this industry to the full.
