Inchcape Retail UK open its fourth Honda dealership in August.

The Romford site It will “be a significant site with the latest Honda corporate identity”, said Spencer Lock, Inchcape Retail managing director.

It has is solely invested in by Honda.

Romford was an open point for the franchise.

Lock said the new site was effectively fulfilling a market area.

Its other Honda sites are also in Essex, at Colchester, Southend and Chelmsford. “It’s a strong territory,” he added.

Lock wouldn’t reveal whether Inchcape plans to take on any more Honda sites, or what proportion of Inchcape Retail’s UK sales are from its Honda operation.

"It said the Japanese carmaker was one of its “core brand partners”.

Inchcape Retail will now have four of the eight Honda car franchises in Essex.

The others are Browns in Loughton, Grays in Grays, Darlingtons in Harlow and John Pease in Braintree.
