The UK will take the bulk of the limited production run for the Megane Renaultsport R26.R which had its world premiere at the British International Motor Show last week.

Renault is building just 450 of them, 230 of which will be heading to the UK, with another 126 going to France, and then the remainder split amongst Germany, Spain and Switzerland.

The R26.R, which goes on sale in October priced at £22,995, has also just set the fastest lap of the 13-mile Nurburgring for a front-wheel drive production car, lapping the circuit in 8min 17sec.
