Jemca Group’s new £8 million Lexus dealership on Edgware Road will be finished by the end of this month.

Talbot Construction is handling the build for Jemca.

So far the build has gone smoothly.

Diana McKinnon, general manager for Lexus Edgware Road, said: “I don’t want to tempt fate, but so far all has gone to plan.

“The scheduled date for completion is August 1 and we are hoping to be able to commence trading on August 16.”

McKinnon has spent the past year working with the sales team at Jemca’s current Lexus site, which is linked with the group’s Toyota dealership on Edgware Road.

She said: “We are currently tucked away behind the Toyota site with no main road frontage and no signage.

“The current climate is a difficult time for all of us in this industry but the exposure and awareness that this relocation will bring for us will bring an upturn in footfall from passing trade.”

The staff will all relocate to the new dealership which is located three-quarters of a mile down Edgware Road away from its current site.

The new two-storey facility will encompass a total of 30,500 square feet.

The 10-car showroom will extend over two floors with a separate VIP showroom for celebrities and customers to discuss buying a car in privacy.

The dealership will also use new software from Portfolio, the used car marketing company, which will use a computer and a projector to display Jemca’s used car stock on the dealership’s windows overnight.

This will allow passing customers to see deals when they walk or drive past the dealership after it has closed for the day.

An official launch even-ing is being planned for mid-October and will include a guest appearance from Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger.
