Vindis Group has taken on the Bentley franchise in Norwich after recently purchasing the site from Sytner Group.

The deal reduces Sytner’s portfolio of Bentley to four, with its remaining sites in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leicester and Manchester.

Geoffrey Page-Morris, Sytner group operations director, said: “We don’t have representation with any manufacturers in that region of the UK and it was decided with Bentley that we would sell it to Vindis. It’s not part of a restructure.

“We’re budgeting for 2010 at the moment and we’ve had a good year.”

All 12 full-time staff have transferred over to Vindis.

Michael Mayer, Bentley Motors UK and European regional director, said Vindis was chosen to take over the dealership because of its long-standing relationship with brands like Volkswagen and Audi.

Patrick Sneezum, Bentley Norwich general manager, said: “Vindis has taken on a profitble business.

“New car business has declined, but only in line with the market overall.

“This has been more than compensated by the sale of used cars this year.

"Due to our efforts to attract older Bentley models and Crewe-built Rolls-Royce cars we have also been able to increase our aftersales business throughout this year.”
