How did you get into the automotive business?
My father had a motor business in Northern Ireland. I worked for him part-time and in the school holidays. After university I joined Lex Retail Group.

What does your job entail?
I lead a great team of people at Bristol Street Commercials. We have the Iveco and Fiat Professional franchises and we have dealerships in Bristol, Gloucester and Swindon.

How will your job change over the next few years?
It will change as we get bigger and better at what we do.

Previous jobs?
I have been fortunate to have the experience of operating on both sides of the manufacturer/retailer fence… twice.

What advice would you give to young people joining the industry?
If you are passionate about the motor industry, you will do well.

What’s the worst career move you’ve ever made?
Tried to make a living at motor racing.

And the best?
Getting out of motor racing.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?
Running a significant group of commercial vehicle dealerships.
