Property agent Colliers CRE has added an automotive and roadside department at its Leeds office to cater for its clients in the north.

Angela Calow has been appointed as associate director of the Leeds auto-motive and roadside office, which will be working alongside Colliers’ other sites in London, Birmingham and Bristol.

Calow said: “Colliers added the department because previously our Birmingham office had to deal with clients for the north of the UK too.

“Having the Leeds office means it’s a lot easier and quicker to visit clients and it’s also good to have a local presence in the area you’re working in.”

The Leeds office will be responsible for clients across the north of the country, including Arnold Clark, Inchcape, Mercedez-Benz Retail, Peugeot, Toyota, Hyundai, Mazda, Meridian Motor Group, Rybrook, HKS, Ellwoods, MPK, Jack Loggin, Sainsbury and Margram Snax 24.

Despite the much talked- about recession, Calow said her appointment was also in response to how busy the commercial property market was at the moment, a contrast to other views of the current property markets.

Calow said: “We are extremely busy at the mom-ent and we’re also managing to dispose of stock quite quickly despite the common impression that it would be difficult in this climate.
“The demand is still there and there are a variety of disposals and developments coming through at the moment.

“We have a lot of valuations on the go, too.” Calow was previously at Lambert Smith Hampton’s motor trade department and has more than 13 years’ experience in the property industry.
