Marshall Motor Group has taken over three of the Honda dealerships of collapsed motor retailer De Vries.

The businesses acquired are in Hull, York and Scarborough.

Benfield Motor Group will be the new operator of De Vries' showroom in Stockton-on-Tees, which AM understands was owned by Honda UK.

De Vries' fifth Honda outlet, at Northallerton, has been closed by administrators Grant Thornton trading and will not be reopened by Honda.

Marshall chief executive Daksh Gupta said: “This is a really exciting step for Marshall and it fits well with our stated strategy to look for good business opportunities which are scalable."

Honda is a "key partner" for Marshall, which already represents the brand in Peterborough.

Gupta added: “These businesses are attractive to Marshall for many reasons, but we are particularly pleased in Scarborough to be acquiring
the number one ranked dealership in the Honda network for customer satisfaction.
