Toyota cuts hours and pay by 10% in UK

Toyota will cut pay and working hours by 10% for staff at its UK factories from April 1.

Cuts will last for one year and affect 4,500 workers at plants in Burnaston, Derby and Deeside, reported BBC News

The Japanese carmaker said the measures would allow the company to “maintain employment in this difficult period”.

It has already cut 200 part-time jobs and last week started a voluntary redundancy scheme.
