The group finance director of Inchcape, Barbara Richmond, has resigned after three years with the business.

In a statement, Inchcape said Richmond has decided to leave the group by mutual consent at the end of June to pursue other interests, following its recent successful £234 million rights issue.

The company will now begin a search for her successor.

Andre Lacroix, Inchcape chief executive, said: "I would like to wish Barbara all the very best for the future and thank her for her contribution to the company during her three years with the Group, including the successful restructuring and rights issue completed earlier in the year."

Richmond commented: "I have enjoyed my time at Inchcape. I leave the group in good hands, with a robust capital structure and a strong management team capable of meeting the demands of the future. I wish them every success."
