Motorpoint has sold 11 LDV vehicles in the past week after announcing it would offer a one-year warranty on its LDV vans.

The offer applies to customers that buy any of the Maxus range already in stock at Motorpoint’s five sites.

The warranty, worth £349, covers parts, labour and VAT on mechanical and electrical faults as well as any hotel, train, taxi costs incurred in the event of a breakdown. An additional year-long warranty can also be purchased.

Karl Anderson of Motorpoint’s commercial sales division said: “Inspite of LDV going into administration, it is clear from the calls that we are receiving that their vans continue to remain extremely popular, especially when combined with the offer of a free one-year warranty.”

Motorpoint made a similar gesture in 2005 following the collapse of MG Rover, subsequently selling over 2,000 MG Rover to customers across Europe.
