The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) has launched a new funding advice service to help employers and training providers find out what Government funding is available in the and how it can be accessed.

A review was undertaken to see how much support is available through regional and local agencies for businesses and training providers in the automotive sector and the support can vary in terms of the amounts available and this is often dependent on where companies are based in the United Kingdom.

The IMI is offering information through its website www.motor.org.uk and businesses that are interested in speaking to the IMI on how they can help access funding can email funding@motor.org.uk with their contact details.

The IMI will initially be trialling this service for six months and if successful, hopes to offer the service on a permanent basis.

Linda Stansfield, chief operating officer at the IMI, said: “We are aware that the whole area of available Government funding for training can seem confusing to many in the sector.

“The aim of our new service will be to help guide employers and training providers through the process and enable them to obtain the right funding to assist with training or the delivery of training where it is most needed in their business.”
