Citroen’s new DS3 range has its sights firmly locked on Mini conquest sales and the French brand has revealed what customer’s will be able to customise when they specify their new car. 250CitroenDS3

Customers will be able to choose from different colours for the roof, wing mirrors, rubbing strips, wheels and wheel centres in what Citroen is calling “My DS3!”.

The DS3 key fob can also be coloured to match the body paint of the car.

Engines

The DS3 will launch with five Euro V engines, consisting of two HDi diesels and three BMW co-developed petrol engines.

The two HDi diesels – a 90bhp and an 110bhp – are fitted with Citroën’s DPFS (diesel particulate filter system) and the three petrol engines – VTi 95, VTi 120 and THP 150 – are fitted with either five or six-speed manual gearboxes.Citroen DS3

The two HDi DPFS engines will deliver CO2 emissions of 99g/km and 115/g km and the petrol units will emit between 136/km and 160g/km of carbon dioxide.

The DS3 will arrive in UK Citroen showroom in spring 2010. An official an sale date and prices will be announced “in the forthcoming months”, but dealers can expect it to be competitively priced against the Mini, which starts at £10,950 and goes up to £16,580.
