Lifestyle Ford has donated two cars to students at the Wealden Skills Centre.

A Ford Escort and Ka were delivered to the Uckfield college for use by pupils on its vehicle maintenance and repair courses.

Endorsed by the Institute of the Motor Industry, Wealden’s two year programme provides the skills people need to go on and complete an apprenticeship.

Peter Isted, managing director at Lifestyle, started out in the automotive industry as an apprentice.

He said: “I understand the importance of getting a good start to your career and Wealden’s motor vehicle courses give young people the perfect grounding.

"Nowadays, there’s a lot of competition for apprenticeships and to have the benefit of practical experience gained on the course will stand the students in good stead when it comes to taking the next step. What we’re doing with the college, as a local business, is investing in the technicians of the future.”
